Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival

"Each July, the Festival transforms the idyllic lakefront Dawes Park into a global village. Surrounded by the flags of more than 100 nations honoring the diversity of our planet, attendees experience the colors, sounds, and aromas of world cultures. Every continent is represented in song, dance, spoken word, visual arts and food.  There is live music, dance performances and art and craft work of juried artists."

The Barefoot Hawaiian will be representing the culture of Hawaiian dance at this festival

The full festival runs from Noon to 7:00 PM on Saturday & Sunday, July 21-22

Seating Availability and Suggestions:

Bring your own lawn chair to enjoy a close up view of the show from the lawn directly in front of the stage and to enjoy the show from a more comfortable seat.  You will need to arrive early - at least an hour before show to secure a place for your chair in this prime location.  This show is among the most popular and attended of our public annual shows.  For everyone else, stadium bench seating a little further back is provided by the park district.  Please note that these are permanent bench-style hard seats without seat backs, so you may wish to bring a blanket, cushion, or cushion seat with back to be more comfortable during the show.

"Guests visit the South Pacific Islands for a festive and dynamic celebration featuring Tiki-inspired libations such as Suffering Bastards, Mai-Tais, Zombies and the Tiki Puki Punch.
