New Dance Studio Grand Opening

Dance Studio Center
Come and check out our all new Dance Studio. It's
not just a remodeling of the old dance studio space.
Located at the same address as the Barefoot Hawaiian, it's
an all new, complete Dance Studio Center, built into a new
space recently acquired by the Barefoot Hawaiian.
The center has two mirrored dance training/lesson/practice
rooms, a large and spacious waiting room for students and
parents, and a walk-in closet/coat/costume room.
During our new studio grand opening, enjoy live
Hawaiian music performed by our band, spontaneous hula
performances by our girls, snacks and
beverages. So come out and party and celebrate
with us in our grand opening of our largest and most
spacious dance studio in Barefoot Hawaiian history.

have learned this past school year. The show will be
supplemented with some special performances by dancers
from professional dance troupe. This complete and
unabridged, "director's cut" of the show will
run about 3 hours and is our best bargain of the year.

second consecutive year, to be the chosen local company to
signal the official start of the city's Fourth of July
Parade. We will do so with the official blowing of
the conch shells at 10:00 AM. Will will then be
among the first groups in the parade. Catch us anywhere
along the parade route as we walk and perform in our own
home-town parade.
The City of Des Plaines is
proud to announce this year’s Independence Day Parade

The parade starts at the intersection of Wicke and
Center streets, runs north on Center to Prairie Avenue,

Main Township's "National Night Out 2019"

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Township's program is one of the oldest celebrations of
National Night Out.
About the Main Township
National Night Out, Tom Robb of Journal and Topics wrote on July 29, 2019,
"National Night Out is a national event which takes place in local communities across the country. It was founded as the National Night Out Against Crime in 1984 as a way for people to interact with police in a positive way. The event has become popular in Maine Township. Local officials consider it a way to promote “community
unity.
"Highlights include the announcement of poster contest winners, a helicopter fly by, by Cook County Sheriff’s police,
performances by the Barefoot Hawaiian dance troupe of Des
Plaines, sheriff’s police K-9 unit officers with their dogs, firefighters, carnival games, balloon artists and face painters.
"The evening’s events kickoff at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation of colors by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, who will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Kids will be able to take part in carnival games and a bounce house between about 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
when Barefoot Hawaiian takes stage, showing off their hula moves and getting kids involved with the show.
"At about 8:15 p.m. Peter Gialamas, Maine Township clerk and Maine Township National Night Out committee chairman, said poster contest winners will be announced.
Maine Township received more than 80 entries from first through seventh graders, most from East Maine School Dist. 63 schools. At least one winner from each grade would be announced, along with some honorable mentions, Gialamas said.
Organizers said they expect a “fly by” of the sheriff’s helicopter, but did not have an exact time when that is expected to take place. Sheriff’s police are also expected to show off their new hostage rescue team armored vehicle."
