We are happy to report that dance classes have returned to the Barefoot Hawaiian for the Fall of 2022 after the long pandemic shutdown.

We are re-launching our dance class program with a new format and location.  Our new location for classes is now in the Dance Room of the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines, Illinois.  Yes! Our dance classes are still in Des Plaines.

We are starting off the Fall 2022 season with adult classes only.  Due to the concerns parents still have for their children with Covid still a significant factor in all our lives, combined with children restarting educational school this fall, the Barefoot Hawaiian has decided, in the interest of health and safety, to keep children's classes on hiatus until we see the outcome of children's re-entry back into school this fall.

As for format, we are starting things off slower than we have traditionally done for our fall class line-up.  What you will notice is fewer offerings and shorter sessions.  In the past, our sessions were divided into quarters of 8-weeks each, and we offered classes of several dance styles to choose from.  So, please bare with us as we test the waters first, with shorter sessions of about 3-4 weeks and offerings of the most popular and sought-after classes.  What has and will remain the same is the quality of instruction and the fun and enjoyment of learning the Polynesian dance arts.

Current Class Offerings

Status of Classes for the Remainder of 2022

No new students are being accepted at this time for classes that are running through the remainder of 2022. These include classes running from October up until the holiday shutdown which occurs just before Christmas.  Classes being held during this period are closed group classes (no open enrollment) for existing students that were in attendance for the September 2022 classes.   Those students were sent registration materials privately.  If you were a student in the September session and did not receive the materials for classes after September, please contact the Barefoot Hawaiian.

If you are potential new student interested in taking dance classes with the Barefoot Hawaiian, please check back with this web site for the next publicly available, open enrollment session.  If such classes will be scheduled for early 2023, look for the information here either in late 2022 or early January 2023.  Optionally, you may also contact the Barefoot Hawaiian to get on the list of new students to be contacted once open-enrollment classes become available.  If enough calls or emails are received, additional classes may be added to the curriculum to accommodate new students..

We apologize for this inconvenience, but classes that become immediately filled by continuing students from a previous session, do not have an open-enrollment to new students for that reason.
