NBC-5 News Today Show

July 8, 2005

It's a beautiful Friday summer morning in Chicago and the production team of the NBC-5 News Today Show is broadcasting live from the veranda of the NBC studios in down town Chicago.  The Chicago area is the Midwest location for an area-wide Tiki-fest and luau for the weekend of July 8-10 (Friday-Sunday), and the NBC-5 News Today Show and it's reporter Jeanne Sparrow is covering the event.

To help promote this event, NBC-5 studios called on the Barefoot Hawaiian to provide dancers and drumming for some entertainment during the show.  In addition, Jeanne Sparrow called upon Scottie the Parrot to help her broadcast the traffic report and called upon the Cocktail Preachers, a local band with a Hawaiian sound familiar from the 1960's, to play music for the Barefoot Hawaiian dancers to dance to.
